SCD Southwest Ltd provides a coaching consultancy approach that challenges the thinking and behaviours behind the management and development throughout all areas in sporting and business organisations.

Our core principles are creating order from chaos, thinking and working in unexpected ways and moving swiftly and accurately when the environment changes.

Coach Education

Brian is the ultimate coach educator. He has a profound understanding, not just of the game, but also of the mindset of the coach. He refuses to tell coaches how to do it, but challenges them to think about the game in a unique way, and to come up with their own answers. Never a slave to conventional thinking, he has a talent for making the game both simple and exciting for player and coach alike"

Although more well known for his work in the sphere of Rugby Brian has developed a coach education service that reaches out to all sports.

There are many common threads running through the philosophy, ideology and practice of coaching irrespective of the game involved.

The ultimate coach education challenge is to make the coach redundant! - something that as far as Brian is aware has not yet happened!

Consultancy

Brian operates delivering high level performance behaviours in both the sporting and business world. His main focus at the present time is in the Education and development of coaches. He is not only working in Rugby but in a range of sports including Netball, Tennis and Cricket and Strength and Conditioning.

His philosophy is embedded in the name of the business 'SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT'. Although this name has something of the Monty Pythonesque Brian has never been one for a conservative, conventional or traditional approach to teaching, coaching and problem solving in general.

His consultancy manner is one of challenge and confrontation but in a positive and very forward looking manner. He operates through his HIGH LEVEL PERFORMANCE INDIVIDUAL CHECK LIST and his HIGH LEVEL PERFORMANCE TEAM PYRAMID to stretch coaches, players and business managers to look at their work in a whole variety of ways.

His blank sheet of A4 paper appraisal and review has stretched the thinking of International players and coaches alike.
