I thought the content was concise and to the point and it set out what it wanted to achieve. It was delivered at the right pace in a nice relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
2. IN WHICH AREAS DID THE SEMINAR STIMULATE YOUR APPROACH TO YOUR VISION OF THE GAME
The whole seminar sort of opened my eyes in regards as taking a different approach to training.
3. HOW DID YOU FIND THE INTERACTIVE NATURE OF THE SEMINAR ? CAN THIS BE APPLIED TO YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR PLAYERS.

It was perfect! Brian’s visit exceeded any expectations that any of us had. He related well with our community; so much so that we have already been discussing having him back sometime in the near future! My head of school was truly delighted to be able to share and discuss educational and rugby philosophy with someone he admires and looks to as a mentor for coaching.
The sports awards address has the parents asking for more information and also wanting the highlights of his talk; the breakfast, although it was intimate; the parents and staff involved could have spent all day; and the workshop was a great success!
Thank you so much for all your help in facilitating this experience!

Apologies for the delay in getting this over to you.
I found the Academy training day a very positive experience, and again re-enforced the concepts of making players self aware, and creating environments where they themselves are making the decisions, be they on or off the pitch. This is something that we are underway within the cub, and I hope we have a pretty good understanding of as a staff. Matt's presentation however was a welcome voice from outside, and has certainly raised questions about what we are doing, and things we might approach in the coming months.
The idea that Brian brought up regarding recreating 'critical moments' got me thinking too, and I have since run part of my sessions based on scenarios, or time pressured defence or attack situations. Again, ...

Premier League youth coaches seminar 02.02.2011
I was invited to give a presentation at the Belfry Hotel, Sutton Coldfield, to the Barclays Football Premier league youth coaches on developing talented young players. It was a very interesting evening and I had the opportunity to discuss a variety of coaching issues with many of the coaches of the worlds top young players. The following morning I watched a coaching demonstration by the technical director of Fulham FC which offered a contrast of coaching method to the one I had described the previous evening.

Fylde's Brian Ashton receives Mark Nelson praise 28.10.2010
Fylde director of rugby Mark Nelson has pinpointed Brian Ashton's involvement with the National Two North club as a key factor to their improved form.
Nelson believes the former England head coach, who joined Fylde in a coaching consultancy role during the summer, deserves much of the praise.
"Brian has a big involvement in the way we play," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"I'm very much a believer that if you've got a world-class resource you use it, and Brian is very intuitive.
Nelson added: "He gets you to believe in the game you want to play.
"Over the past couple of years the game has become dour because of necessity and last season even though we weren't fighting relegation we were looking over our shoulder at the end. So this season, even before Brian came, I was determined ...

I'm hoping that I could get this message of thanks to Brian is possible!
I attended your "Integrated Coaching" workshop last night in Devizes as part of my Coaching Education (at 16 the more the better I guess!) and it was truly brilliant. The attention to some simplistic things, such as 'street games' and that the players must run the game are brilliant thoughts and have truly changed the way I think about sports coaching - whilst I may enjoy my Cricket and the coaching alongside it, I am a Hockey player first and foremost and some of these ideas could help the performance in a hockey match in a massive way I believe, and as far as I'm concerned it is now my job to tell the world this!

BRIAN Ashton MBE, England Head Coach as recently as 2008, has agreed to return to his old club Fylde RFC as Coaching Consultant.
One of the most visionary coaches in the global game, he has recently moved back to the Lytham area and will now help Head Coach Mark Nelson in the development of Fylde's senior squad.
Ashton played scrum-half at the Woodlands from 1966-1973 before moving to Orrell and then having a spell overseas at Montferrand, Roma and Milan. He then switched to coaching and had a brief spell back at the Woodlands in 1980/81 whilst teaching at Stonyhurst College before an appointment at Kings School Bruton, near Bath.
He became Head Coach at Bath RFC before moving to the international scene as Head Coach of Ireland (1996-8) and then England in 2006. He was ...

Just thought I would drop you a note to say what a great event it was yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. All the key speakers were excellent, with Brian Ashton being absolutely inspirational.
To be involved in a sport where world class coaches take the time and effort to speak at a grass roots level is wonderful and encourages a sense of belonging
I will certainly be going back to the club and not only putting into practice the ideas and techniques I absorbed from the day, but encouraging the other coaches to attend future events

Many thanks for these photos, I have included a couple in my report to the Head regards Pre Season.
Brian asked me to let him know our fixture list as he might try to get up and have a look one Saturday hence the attachment.
Just to let him know we went to Reigate Grammar school on Saturday to play some 30 min friendlies and the seniors won all their matches and the U16's won 2/3 but the most encouraging aspect was that I could hear them talking about space and where to attack as the game was unfolding.
If he does want to pop up let me know when as I am sure our Head will want to meet him and I might even get Lionel Weston, Brians old adversary, to pop along as well.

Following our very productive 5 days at the Chateau I thought I would drop you a short note of appreciation. There are several reasons why the 5 days have been particularly successful for us as a squad with ambitions of making a mark on a national level this season.
The first being the attention paid to the objectives Caleb and I had put together prior to arriving and we felt that every session was highly relevant to these objectives and delivered in manageable chunks to enable understanding and retention by the players. In particular, the simplification of concepts such as attacking space relayed in the classroom were valuable and this style of part theory, part practical is a method we will employ to a larger degree in future. AS GOOD AS GRASS? 10.07.2009
Not being a green fingered person by any stretch of the imagination I have always had problems motivating myself to keep the garden up to speed. I finally gave up the ghost when we moved just over a year ago to our new house. Firstly the grass did not remotely resemble a lawn and secondly we acquired a black Labrador. The dog tore around the garden and tore up what grass was left.
I cannot claim the responsibility for the SCD thought for solving this problem. That honour goes to Helen, my wife. She googled artificial grass and found a company that relaid lawns with this product – As Good As Grass from Wrea Green, near Kirkham in Lancashire.

Christ\'s Hospital School Coaching and Dinner Engagement 08.07.2009
I am very much looking forward to attending Christ's Hospital School in Sussex on Friday 19th June. My contact with the school goes back almost 20 years from my days as a school master at Kings School Bruton.
My present contact there is Sean Davey a premiership referee and the master in charge of Rugby at the school.
The school is embarking on a very ambitious tour of Australia this summer. I have been invited to coach the touring squad on Friday afternoon and be the guest speaker at the tour fundraising dinner in the evening at the school.
Having been to the school previously I know what a excellent welcome there will be - I just hope my overnight accommodation is not in the old school mortuary as it was the last time I stayed there! Talk about scary moments in life!

The Italian Rugby Federation have invited Brian to lecture to their top level coaches on Transition Rugby in May/June this year. Brian played and coached in Italy from 1976-79 and has been a frequent visitor to the country as a coach educator. He is fluent in the language and presents in Italian!
